50th Golden Wedding Anniversary Masses

June 14th and June 15th @ 2:00 pm
Cathedral of St. Patrick
5th Ave, between 50th and 51st Sts.
New York, NY 10022

*Due to the large number of married couples celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversaries with us, two Masses will be celebrated in 2014 by His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan to bless and honor these couples.

This program is designed to affirm the sacredness and indissolubility of the Sacrament of Marriage by providing:

A special Mass for couples residing in the Archdiocese of New York who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in 2014* is held to publicly recognize their powerful witness to the importance and permanence of marriage.   The married couples have the opportunity as a group to renew their wedding vows and receive a blessing from the Cardinal at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick.  This Mass is always a regular Sunday Mass which fulfills your Sunday obligation and follows the normal Sunday mass readings.

*If you do not live within the Archdiocese of New York, (i.e. if you live in Brooklyn, Queens, or other states) please check with your local parish or diocese to join in their 50th wedding anniversary celebrations.

This program provides a meaningful spiritual experience for the jubilarians and their families. *Registration for the event at the Cathedral of St. Patrick will be forthcoming. About one month after the Golden Wedding Anniversary Mass, a 50th Wedding Anniversary certificate will be sent to the  mailing address that you supplied.

The Mass usually takes about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes.

Congratulations on this beautiful testament to lifelong love and fidelity, we look forward to sharing this special Mass with you!

In addition to this celebration, many people desire a Papal blessing (a blessing from the Pope) to commemorate this special anniversary.  This usually takes weeks or months to obtain so it is best to start the process well in advance. To learn how to obtain a blessing from the Pope, please download these instructions: in a word document   or in a .pdf form
