World Marriage Day - Sunday, February 10, 2008

Plans for World Marriage Day 2008 are already underway!

World Marriage Day is an annual event, sponsored by Worldwide Marriage Encounter (the largest Catholic pro-marriage and family movement in the world) and the Family Life/Respect Life Office of the Archdiocese of New York.  It honors and affirms the vocation of husbands and wives and the positive impact of their dedicated example on our society, families, communities, Church, and nation.

Each year on World Marriage Day, the 10:15 a.m. Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan is offered in grateful recognition of married couples everywhere, with particular attention focused on the longest-married couple in the Archdiocese.  This annual event always draws huge numbers of couples and families who want to be a part of this special celebration. Please click here for flyer and bulletin inserts.

Search for the Longest-Married Couple

And once again the search is on for the longest-married couple in the Archdiocese of New York!  To enter, the couple must be sacramentally married for a minimum of 65 years and reside within the boundaries of the Archdiocese.  The winning couple(s) will be honored Sunday, February 11, 2007, at the 10:15 a.m. Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral.

Please send entries to:

Brendan and Noreen McCormack

3 Old Clave Road

Congers, NY 10920

Entries must be received by February 1, 2007.  For further information on this search, or to make a reservation to attend the ceremony, please contact
